CLEVELAND, OH – Senior forward Caitlin Henry (Fairfax, VA/Robinson) recorded a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds as the Case Western Reserve University women's basketball team stretched its win streak to five games with a 56-38 victory versus Brandeis University (MA) on Sunday, January 16 at Horsburgh Gymnasium.

With the win, the Spartans improve to 9-5 overall and 3-0 in the University Athletic Association. Brandeis falls to 9-5 and 1-2 UAA.

In addition to Henry, three other Spartans scored in double-figures. Junior forward Erin Hollinger (Chardon, OH/Chardon) totaled a game-high 13 points and also grabbed four rebounds, while sophomore guards Erica Iafelice (North Canton, OH/Hoover) and Evy Iacono (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame) each recorded 11 points, five rebounds and three assists.

The Spartans led 11-5 when Henry hit a layup at 12:35. The advantage then grew to a high of nine, at 18-9, following a Henry three-pointer with 8:10 left in the half. However, Brandeis was able to hold the Spartans without a field goal for the last 5:12 of the period en route to a 10-4 run that ended in a Morgan Kendrew jumper with 44 seconds remaining.  The Spartans clung to a 22-19 at the break.

The Spartan cold streak stretched into the second half and Brandeis grabbed a 25-24 lead when Kendrew hit two free throws at 16:52. Undaunted, Case answered with a 13-0 run that made the score 37-25 with 13:35 left to play. The run featured three-pointers from sophomore forward Marissa Miles (McDonald, PA/Fort Cherry) at 16:30, sophomore guard Evy Iacono (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame) at 15:39, and Iafelice at 13:35. The Spartan lead would not fall below eight the rest of the way, and reached a high of 20 when Miles hit a three-pointer at 1:44.

For the game, Case held Brandeis to just 15-of-55 (.273) from the field.

The Spartans return to action next Friday, January 21 at Emory University (GA) at 6:00 p.m. in Atlanta, Georgia. The team also plays at the University of Rochester (NY) at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
