Freshman forward Shannon Larson scored 21 points and pulled down 22 rebounds as the Raiders knocked off Mount Mary 77-53 in an intracity nonconference matchup at the Kern Center Monday night. Both were career highs for Larson. Junior center Carol Cayo was also a force down low as she put in 19 points and grabbed 18 rebounds.
It look Larson just over ten minutes in the game to record first her career double-double. Cayo now has six double-doubles this season. Sophomore forward Heather Miller had 12 points and seven rebounds. Junior forward Kaylie Lenz scored a career-high 11 points off the bench for MSOE.
The Raiders held Mount Mary to 27.3% shooting from the field. MSOE outrebounded the Blue Angels 63-47 on the night. The Raiders went on a 26-5 run in the second half to pull away from Mount Mary after leading by 12 at halftime.
MSOE (6-6) faces Edgewood in Madison, Wis. Saturday at 2 p.m.
