DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College jumped out to a 22-2 lead in the first seven minutes of the game and cruised to a 77-49, non-conference victory over visiting Lancaster Bible College.

With the win, the Aggies head into the holiday break with a 6-5 overall record. They will return to action on Monday, January 3 when they travel to Ursinus College for a non-conference game. Lancaster Bible saw its mark fall to 4-6.

Delaware Valley hit seven of its first 11 shots from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers, and was 6-for-6 from the foul line, as it broke out to the early 20-point advantage. Jackie Shunkwiler led the spurt with eight points, including all six free throws, while Sarah Innerst and Emily Soper had six points apiece.

The Aggies eventually took a 45-16 lead into the intermission as they shot 53.1 percent from the field (17-for-32) from the field in the opening 20 minutes and forced 15 turnovers. The lead ballooned to as many as 32 in the second half and the Crusaders never got closer than 21 points.

All 10 healthy players on the Delaware Valley roster hit the scoring column and each saw at least 17 minutes of action. Shunkwiler had 13 points while Innerst and Brittany Battinieri notched 10 points and five assists apiece. Soper finished with nine points, seven rebounds and seven blocks while Liz Hover came off the bench to contribute eight points and 10 boards.

Lacy McClaine scored 17 points to pace Lancaster Bible. Nicole Karschner finished with eight points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
