CAMDEN, N.J.--The Hood College women's basketball team (4-6) was unable to overcome a slow start and dropped its sixth straight game, 62-35, Saturday afternoon at Rutgers-Camden (4-6).

The Blazers were led offensively by first-year Briana White who drained a career-high three three-point baskets and finished with 16 points. Sophomore Dyanna Prater chipped in six points while Caitlyn Nixon added a season-high five points and four rebounds. Kelsey Knippenberg grabbed a career-high seven rebounds in the losing effort.

Hood connected on just 3-of-23 from the field in the opening stanza, allowing the Scarlet Raptors to mount a 26-9 lead by halftime. The Blazers hit four of their first five shots coming out of the locker room and compiled a 41.7 shooting percentage in the second half but it was not enough, as the Raptors kept the Blazers at bay the remainder of the contest.

Hood will be idle until Jan. 5, 2011 when the Blazers travel to Stevenson University for a Capital Athletic Conference clash at 2 p.m.
