FREDERICK, Md. - Wesley's Angie Owens (Seaford, Del./Seaford) scored 26 points and Allison Beddia (New Castle, Del./Delcastle) hit a career-best five threes as the Wolverines topped Hood 77-60.

Owens finished the day 10-of-17 from the floor, including a three, and added seven rebounds, two assists, three blocks and a steal. 

Beddia, meanwhile, sank 5-of-9 from long distance to lead a perimeter attack that went 9-of-17 from behind the arc in the game.  She also sank a pair of free throws for 17 points.

Cory Boyd (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant) dished out eight assists in the game, becoming the first Wolverine to top 500 in her career, running her school record to 507.  Number 500 came on Wesley's first bucket of the game when she hit Heather Fuller (Greenwood, Del./Sussex Tech) for two underneath.

The Blazers (4-3, 0-2 CAC) started strong, jumping out to a 13-6 lead after a bucket by Dyanna Prater with 14:31 left in the first half.  The Wolverines (2-3, 1-1 CAC) answered back with a 24-2 run that put Wesley ahead 30-17 after Beddia's fourth three of the half with 6:00 minutes left.

Owens' only three of the afternoon put the Wolverines up by 19 points before Wesley settled for a 46-29 lead at the half behind 15 points by Beddia.

After Hood cut it to seven in the second half, the Wolverines went on an 11-2 spree that extended the lead to 59-43 after a pair of free throws by Owens with 7:54 left in the game.

Jazmine Miller (Dover, Del./Dover) hit 5-of-9 field goals on her way to 14 points and also had four steals for Wesley.

Prater led Hood with 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting and a perfect 7-of-7 from the charity stripe.  Briana White netted 15 points, while Allyson Lethbridge chipped in with 11.

Wesley is idle until after final exams when Stevenson comes to Wentworth Gymnasium on December 14.
