CASTINE, Maine --- The 19th-ranked Colby College women's basketball team had three players with 14 points as the Mules moved to 4-0 overall with a 72-53 non-conference victory at Maine Maritime Academy on Wednesday night.
The Mules had a chance to get ready for Saturday's big non-conference game at rival Bowdoin College at 2 p.m.
Colby captain Jules Kowalski led the way with 14 points on 6-for-11 shooting and eight rebounds. Rachael Mack added 14 points on 7-for-11 shooting and seven rebounds along with three blocked shots, three steals, and two assists. Diana Manduca was 5-for-6 from the field and 4-for-5 from the foul line for 14 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
Besides Manduca, the Mules received solid guard play from Aarika Ritchie and Jayde Bennett. Ritchie added 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists --- and Bennett finished with five points and five steals.
The Mules, who had a 36-27 halftime lead, shot 51 percent from the field and forced MMA into 35 percent shooting. Colby also had a sizable 45-31 advantage in rebounding.
Brittany Hunt and Casey Everest both had 11 points for the Mariners.
