Offense Shines in Victory at Hartwick

ONEONTA, N.Y.— The Keuka College Men's Basketball sailed past Hartwick 97-72 on Saturday afternoon to move to 7-4 in Empire 8 Conference play.

Paving the way for Keuka College (9-9, 7-4 Empire 8) on offense was Devin Milton (Opelousas, La. / Beau Chene) with 26 points that included four three-point field goals. Behind Milton was Christian Sage (Owego, N.Y. / Owego Free Academy) with 21 points. Alijah Ellis (Portsmouth, Va. / Indian River / Fork Union Military Academy) and Mac Creek (Tampa, Fla. / Cambridge Christian) were also in double figures with 14 and 12 points for the Wolves.

The Wolves got on the board early with a pair of free throws from Alijah Ellis and would maintain the lead for the entirety of the 40 minutes of gameplay. Back-to-back threes from Devin Milton and Jaden Keasey (Newport News, Va. / Menchville) would be the start of an offensive run for Keuka, forcing a Hawks timeout at 21-7 in favor of the Wolves. Christian Sage and Devin Milton both added three triples to the halftime score for the Green and Gold.  Will Tehan (Victor, N.Y. / Victor) found Milton for a three for the last score of the half and would take the game into the break, up 48-36.

Keuka continued to find the hoop, putting in six three-pointers in the second half. Mac Creek got an early steal and assist to Devin Milton for two. A Jaden Keasey pass found Devin Milton behind the arc with 14 minutes left to play to go up 65-50. A pair of threes from Kobe Schriver (Hooper, Utah / Roy) gave Keuka their largest lead of the game at 27 points. The Wolves went on to win 97-72.

  • The Wolves swept the season series with the Hawks. Hartwick remains ahead in the all-time series 12-3
  • The 97 points scored by the Wolves is the most in a game against Hartwick and tied for the eighth-most in a road game in program history
  • Mac Creed led the way with seven assists and Ezeke Pulliam (Altamont, N.Y. / Berne-Knox-Westerlo) was right behind him with five. As a team, Keuka College had 28 assists, tying their season-high from last week against Houghton and also tied for fourth-most in program history
  • Alijah Ellis led the Green and Gold in rebounding with eight in the win. Five of his boards came on the offensive glass
  • As a team, Keuka hit 15 threes in the win. The Wolves now have 167 triples on the season and sit in sixth in the program record book

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves remain on the road on Tuesday with an Empire 8 game against Nazareth University, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Keuka College looks to even the score after falling to the Golden Flyers earlier this season.
