Men's Basketball Dominates Millsaps

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - With eleven Vikings scoring, the team came together to take down the Majors (5-13 overall, 4-4 SAA) in their final home contest of the weekend, 86-63.

Tying their game high three-point field goals made at 16 in today's contest, it made today's sunny day gloomy for the Majors.

The game started tough with traded baskets, but the Vikings got hot early with Jordan Krueger hitting the first triple of the game and Braxton Benham following it with one of his own.

Benham's half court steal turned into a dunk shortly after and tied the game at eleven five minutes into the game.

Finally, leading scorer Jacob Morgan came to life for an 8-0 run of his own to secure the Vikings lead as he was on his way to a 19-point day (21-15).

The big turnaround was when the game clock struck 9:02, the downpour began. Four three's in three minutes rose the lead to 14 and the Majors were silenced.

Berry hung on to that lead and built a little cushion before heading to halftime shooting 50% from behind the arc and ahead 46-30.

Twenty points separated the Majors and the Vikings as Berry's leading scorer for the season Blake Campbell sunk a free throw with 16-minutes to go in the game (55-35).

The remainder of the SAA competition was all Vikings as the team began to share the scoring wealth and the bench added 48 points!

Freshman, Cameron Pope reached a new career high with 9, and Canon Armstead and Ryan Luttrell added to the storm with made triples in a stylish fashion to close out the game and the hope from Millsaps and extend the Vikings win streak to six with a complete sweep of SAA opponents this weekend.

Next up, the Vikings travel to Birmingham-Southern for a tough game on Friday at 9:00 PM ET.
