Knights Hit Triple Digits in 104-56 Win Over Lyndon

Potsdam, NY – Every active player on the roster scored at least one point for the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team as the Golden Knights finished off the non-conference season with a 104-56 win over Vermont State University Lyndon on Tuesday afternoon at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Golden Knights improved to 9-3 overall while Lyndon fell to 0-13. Clarkson returns to Liberty League play this weekend when the team hosts Ithaca College and Union College.

Clarkson jumped out to a 10-0 lead in less than three minutes before Lyndon got on the board, but the offense was far from finished. Back-to-back 3-pointers from Jack Dalgety and Ryan Miles-Ferguson had the Knights up 23-6 with just seven minutes off the clock, and Clarkson continued to expand the lead throughout the period, eventually getting to 50 points on two free throws from Miles-Ferguson in the last minute of the half. While Clarkson's offense was key for the big lead, the defense also performed well, holding the Hornets to just 20.7% shooting overall and just 2-for-15 from beyond the arc.

After a handful of points were scored in the second half, the Knights pulled a few starters at the 15-minute mark, and the rest of the regulars were out a few moments later. Clarkson's reserves continued to shoot well, with several players making their first shots having barely entered the game. Casey Montesano drilled a 3-pointer just 32 seconds into his shift and Tyler Sanders hit his opening jumper only 30 seconds after coming into the contest.

Clarkson shot nearly 50% from the 3-point arc, going 19-for-40 with nine different players making at least one. The Golden Knights also got 52 points off the bench. All 13 players scored at least one point and 12 made at least one shot from the field.

Ryan Miles-Ferguson led the way for the Golden Knights, scoring 22 points with four assists in just 17 minutes. He shot 6-for-9 from the floor and went 7-for-7 from the free throw line. Matthew Parent scored 15 points in 17 minutes, all from beyond the 3-point arc (5-for-9). Braeden Burns tossed in 12 points in just 14 minutes, Casey Montesano reached double figures with 11 points in only 11 minutes. Both Jack Dalgety and Matt Toscano also produced 10 points.

For Lyndon, Gregory Gonyea, Jr. scored 16 points on 5-for-7 shooting and Peyton Olsen scored eight points.
