UC Santa Cruz finishes on late run to defeat No. 18 Williams

UC Santa Cruz pulled off one of the biggest wins in coach Matt Malone's tenure as the Banana Slugs had a late run to dispatch 18th-ranked Williams College 59-51 at the West Field House.

"It was a great team win," said Caden Breznikar. "We came off that tough one against Redlands, but we came together and we got it done on the defensive end tonight. This one feels good, but we have got to keep building."

Zino Okah put the finish on the game when he made an amazing steal and a slam dunk that made it 57-47 with 2:33 remaining.

"We have showed flashes all year but were able to finish today," said fifth-year Treyson Keating. Keating and Tyler Kessinger both scored 11 to lead UC Santa Cruz. Okah and Ian McCloskey both got 9 points and two steals. Breznikar had a season-high ten rebounds to lead the Banana Slugs, who finished with a 41-36 advantage over the Ephs.
