William Paterson Men's Basketball Topped by New Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The William Paterson men's basketball team (2-4, 0-2 NJAC) was defeated 80-70 on the road by New Jersey City (2-4, 1-1 NJAC) in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game Nov. 29.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • William Paterson held a one-point edge (34-33) entering the second half before a quick 6-2 New Jersey City run gave the Gothic Knights a 39-36 lead with 18:07 on the clock.
  • With 13:04 remaining in the game, the Gothic Knights grabbed their largest lead of the night following a 13-2 run that extended the advantage to double figures (57-47).
  • The Pioneers trimmed the deficit to as low as three (61-58) with 5:44 left to play after a 9-2 run, but that would be as close as William Paterson would get as New Jersey City built its lead back to double figures before securing the 80-70 home win.
