NEW LONDON, Conn. – Connecticut College wrapped up regular season play with an 86-46 loss to No. 15 Williams College on Sunday afternoon in NESCAC men's basketball action at Luce Field House.

Williams shot a blistering 61 percent from long range and sank 20 three-pointers en route to the win. Spencer Spivy (San Francisco, Calif.) and Declan Porter (Canton, N.Y.) each drained six treys to lead the charge, finishing with 21 and 18 points, respectively. With the victory, the Ephs (21-3 overall) ended the regular season in a four-way tie atop the NESCAC standings at 7-3.

Conn dropped to 14-10 overall but will live to play another day. The Camels finished the year 5-5 in league play—their most conference wins since 2001-02—and have qualified for the upcoming NESCAC Championship.

David Murray (Jackson Heights, N.Y.) paced Conn with 13 points and seven rebounds while RJ Casey (Nashville, Tenn.) and Kevin Baxter (Branford, Conn.) chipped in nine points apiece.

Williams' three-point barrage started early and never relented. The Ephs busted out of the gates and quickly mounted a double-digit lead behind a suffocating defense and knockdown shooting. By the time the first half was complete, the visitors had drilled 11 threes and owned a 41-13 lead.

The Ephs picked up right where they left off in the second half, connecting on their first five shots of the stanza, four of which came from deep. Porter provided a pair of threes during the spurt while Spivy added a four-point play.

Baxter scored all nine of his points in the second half to give the Camels a spark. He shot 3-for-7 from three-point range and added two rebounds, an assist and a block.

The 2023 NESCAC Men's Basketball Championship will begin with quarterfinal games on Saturday, February 18. The seventh-seeded Camels will travel to second-seeded Hamilton College for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off.
