Keuka College Men’s Basketball Downed at Medaille

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team lost on the road at Medaille 77-61 in an Empire 8 Conference game on Friday night.  

Keuka College (5-8, 1-7 Empire 8) was led by Devin Milton (Opelousas, La. / Beau Chene) with 18 points. Lorenzo Bicknese (Somers, N.Y. / Somers) had 11 points and Jaden Keasey (Newport News, Va. / Menchville) finished with nine points and eight rebounds.

Medaille University 77 vs. Keuka College 61

Keuka College took a quick six-point lead, 13-7, early in the first half. The game would flip in Medaille's favor quickly. The Mavericks would outscore Keuka 30-6 over the next eight minutes to build a 37-19 lead. During that stretch, Medaille hit four threes while Keuka went 0-8 from deep. The Wolves snapped the run with a 9-0 stretch of their own to make it a nine-point game. At the half, Medaille led by ten, 42-32.

Medaille extended their lead to 14 early in the second half, but the Wolves continued to battle. A layup by Zach Bealer (Montgomery, N.Y. / Valley Central) with 12 minutes left cut the lead to five, but Medaille immediately answered with a three. Keuka was able to get it back to five again with 7:25 left to play, but again, Medaille was there with a three to widen the gap. That would be as close as Keuka would get it. The Mavericks continued on to the 77-61 conference victory.

  • Keuka College is now 11-10 all-time against Medaille University and 5-6 in the Mavericks' gym
  • It was the first time Keuka and Medaille met as members of the Empire 8 Conference
  • Devin Milton hit a pair of threes, giving him 106 in his career. Milton moves into a time for tenth with Sam Brown '19 on the career list
  • Will Tehan (Victor, N.Y. / Victor) hit the 300 career point plateau in the game
  • Keion Brooks (Titusville, Fla. / Home Schooled) set a new single-season high in points and assists on Friday
