Wolves Set Three-Point Record at St. John Fisher

PITTSFORD, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team made a school-record 19 three-pointers on the road at St. John Fisher University on Tuesday, but the Wolves fell to the Cardinals 101-89 in Empire 8 play.

Devin Milton (Opelousas, La. / Beau Chene) led Keuka College (5-5, 1-4 Empire 8) with 22 points on Tuesday. Daniel Obunse (Queens, N.Y. / Flushing) and Mason VanDeMortel (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) each made five threes, with Obunse finishing with 20 points and VanDeMortel with 17.

Early threes by Lorenzo Bicknese (Somers, N.Y. / Somers), Mason VanDeMortel, and Devin Milton kept the game close but the Cardinals took an early 15-9 lead over the Wolves. The hosts used small runs throughout the first to grow their lead. The longest stretch for St. John Fisher was nine points, but the Cardinals built a 21-point lead throughout the half and led 50-29 at the break.

The Wolves picked up the play in the second half. Keuka College shot 58.8% from the floor and made 13 threes in the half alone. The Green and Gold used the deep ball to cut into the margin, but it stayed at double digits. Back-to-back threes by Daniel Obunse cut the lead to ten with five minutes left. The Cardinals responded with a three, but Lorenzo Bicknese answered right back with one. Once the lead was back at ten, however, the Cardinals made another three of their own. Obunse's fourth three got it back to a ten-point game with two minutes left to play, but the Cardinals widened the margin. The Wolves cut it back in the closing seconds. St. John Fisher made a pair of late free throws to have it end at a 12-point game, 101-89.

  • Keuka's 60-point second half was the third-most points in a half in program history
  • 19 threes by the Wolves set a new program record. It stands as the most threes in an Empire 8 game this season and is tied for 14th nationwide
  • Lorenzo Bicknese hit four threes, topping his single-game high in a Keuka College uniform. The graduate student also surpassed 50 career threes between his time at Keuka College and SUNY Cobleskill
  • Daniel Obunse was one off his career-high and set a new single-game mark with five threes in the game
  • Devin Milton continued his attack on the Keuka College record book. He has made 378 field goals in his career, passing Casey Williams '16 for tenth all-time

Up Next for Keuka College: The Green and Gold are back home this weekend with a pair of Empire 8 games. Keuka College will host Alfred University and Elmira College. The weekend will start at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with the Wolves versus the Saxons. Keuka and Elmira College will then square off at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
