HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Both defenses were locked in and kept the game scoreless for the first few minutes of the game before Teja Singh drilled a three and Eric Anderson made a layup on back-to-back possessions to put Hamilton up 5-0 with just over 16 minutes left in the first half.
  • Brendan Davis knocked down a jumper to spark a 7-3 run for the Sea Gulls to pull back within one, 10-9, with 11:14 on the clock.
  • Hamilton used a 12-2 run to jump out to a 22-11 lead with 7:52 left in the first half.
  • Salisbury responded with a triple from Kaiden Mines and a layup from Brandon Craig cut into the lead, 22-16, with 6:36 to go.
  • Both teams traded baskets for the next few minutes, but a three-pointer from Hank Morgan extended the Continentals' lead to 34-21 with 1:34 left in the half.
  • Salisbury added a few more points at the charity stripe in the closing moments of half to send the teams into halftime with a score of 34-24.
  • Buddah Spencer made a tough layup to start a 10-2 run to bring the Sea Gulls within two, 36-34, at the 16:40 mark and forced Hamilton to take a timeout.
  • After a made jumper by the Continentals, Greg Bloodsworth and Spencer added three points at the free throw line and Davis made an easy layup to give the Sea Gulls its first lead of the day, 39-38 with 14:22 left.
  • With a one-point lead, 41-40, Bloodsworth scored 10 straight points for Salisbury to extend its lead out to 51-44 with just under 11 minutes to play.
  • Hamilton battled back with an 8-0 run to retake the lead, 52-51 with 8:42 left to play.
  • Both teams traded baskets for the next few minutes and a made layup by Anderson put the Continentals ahead, 65-59 with 3:24 on the clock.
  • The Sea Gulls used a quick 6-0 run that was capped off by a three-pointer from Jordan Oates to tie the game back up at 65 with just over a minute left to play.
  • Craig was able to get a steal on the next Hamilton possession and after a Salisbury timeout, drove the lane, drew a foul and converted one free throw to give the Sea Gulls a 66-65 lead with 39 seconds left.
  • On the next Hamilton possession, Conner Rood drew a foul and converted one of his free throws to tie the game back up at 66 with 33 seconds left.
  • With 25 seconds left Salisbury used its last timeout to draw up a play. Mines knocked down a triple with just a few seconds remaining on the clock to give the Sea Gulls a 69-66 lead.
  • Hamilton get a shot off in the last seconds of the game, but it was off target and Salisbury came away with the comeback victory, 69-66.

SALISBURY GAME NOTES

  • Salisbury shot 40 percent (24-for-60) from the field, including 35 percent (7-for-20) from beyond the arc.
  • Greg Bloodsworth led the Sea Gulls with a game-high 23 points on 9-for-21 shooting, including 3-for-6 from deep. He also added five assists and two rebounds to his line.
  • Brandon Craig scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds.
  • Jordan Oates hauled in a season-high 16 boards and added five points, including a crucial game-tying three late in the game.
  • Salisbury dominated the glass as a whole and outrebounded Hamilton, 41-33.

HAMILTON GAME NOTES

  • Hamilton shot 43.1 percent (22-for-51) from the field, including 36.8 percent (7-for-19) from three.
  • Hank Morgan scored a team-high 14 points on 5-for-12 shooting and grabbed five rebounds.
  • Conner Rood chipped in 12 points off the bench.
  • Patrick Mogan scored six points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

UP NEXT

  • Salisbury advanced to the championship of the Doubletree Holiday Tournament and will take on the winner of Washington & Jefferson and Albright on Friday.
  • Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Reading, Pa.
