The Hope College men's basketbal team dropped their non-league finale to Babson College (Mass.) on Wednesday at DeVos Fieldhouse.
Now 6-5 on the season, the Flying Dutchmen return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 4, in the MIAA opener at Trine University.
Babson (7-3) put five players in double figures and shot 49.2 percent from the team as a team (32-65). Senior guard Andrew Kirkpatrick's 14 points topped the Beavers.
Freshman guard Marcus Wourman (East Lansing, Michigan / East Lansing HS) scored 14 points to lead Hope.
Senior guard Clayton Dykhouse (Zeeland, Michigan / Zeeland East) and senior forward TJ McKenzie Jr. (North Muskegon, Michigan / North Muskegon) finished with 12 points apiece.
Babson jumped to a 41-30 halftime lead after shooting 53.6 percent from the field (15-28) to Hope's 32.0 percent (8-25).
It was the first all-time meeting between Hope and Babson.
