BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Senior Buzz Anthony (Arnold, Md./Archbishop Spalding) scored 25 points, including 20 in the second half, and junior Miles Mallory (Beltsville, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) recorded his ninth double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds as the top-ranked Randolph-Macon men's basketball team closed the game on a 29-6 run in winning 81-50 at Bridgewater on Thursday evening to extend its win streak to 15.

How it Happened:

  • Anthony hit a jumper 20 seconds into the contest to start the scoring. The Eagles put up the next eight points before sophomore Will Coble (Charlotte, N.C./Davidson Day) buried a pair of three-pointers to knot the score at 8-8 with 15:45 left in the first half. BC had the next four points before two free throws by junior Josh Talbert (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) stopped the short run. The Eagles pushed their lead to 18-12 before six straight points by Talbert tied it at 18-18 with 7:45 remaining. The score was level at 26-26 before Anthony hit a trey to spark an 8-2 spurt as the Yellow Jackets would lead 34-28 at the half. Talbert led R-MC with 10 points, while Coble added nine.
  • BC had a 5-3 start to the second half to pull within four at 37-33 before Anthony hit three triples to spark a 13-4 run that was capped by an Anthony layup as R-MC went up 50-37 with 13:45 left. The Eagles closed to within eight at 52-44 before three layups by junior Miles Mallory (Beltsville, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) and five points by Anthony made up an 11-0 spurt as the visitors took a 63-44 advantage with 7:35 remaining. That started a 29-6 run for the Yellow Jackets as the posted the 81-50 victory. The R-MC defense held BC to one field goal in the final 12:45.

By The Numbers:

  • The Yellow Jackets had four score in double figures. Along with 25 by Anthony and 16 by Mallory, Coble finished with 15 to match his career high and Talbert scored 14.
  • Anthony went 10 for 15 from the floor and 5 for 8 from beyond the arc.
  • Coble was 5 for 7 on three-pointers for his 15 points.
  • Anthony topped the victors with eight assists.
  • The Yellow Jackets committed seven turnovers and had just two in the second half. R-MC has had a total of 12 turnovers in the past two games.

  • Anthony had eight assists to give him 706, the most in ODAC history and the second-highest total in program history. Paul Jez owns the R-MC record with 747.
  • Anthony had four steals to raise his career total to 225, a program record.
