Center Valley, PA (January 19, 2022) - The DeSales University men's basketball team shot 73.3 percent in the second-half running away from Delaware Valley University for a 90-66 win in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

How it Happened

  • A close game early and throughout much of the second-half saw DeSales never trail after scoring the first five points of the game.
  • The Bulldogs took its largest lead of the half at the 6:50 mark (28-17) and scored the final four points of the half to take a 38-28 lead into the locker room.
  • The second-half was all DeSalesas the extended a nine-point advantage at the 16:32 mark into a 23-point lead with a 16-2 run over the span of 4:10.
  • Sophomores Mason Barnes and Christian Guldin each had five points during the spurt.
  • The lead never went below 15 points the rest of the way and peaked at 28 points late in the game.

  • It was another balanced attack for the Bulldogs as seven different players scored eight or more points led by sophomore Elijah Eberly with 12 points.
  • Junior Jordan Holmqvist added 11 points and had four assists and sophomore Ryan Boylan also had 11 tallies.
  • Barnes and senior Mike Bealer finished with nine points, with Barnes adding seven assists.
  • Senior Matt Kachelries finished with six points, six rebounds, nine assists, two steals, and two blocks.
  • Guldin and senior Timmy Edwards each had eight points.

For the Foes

  • The Aggies got 13 points from Jordan Gombs.
  • Matt Paulus and Godly Marc each had 12 points in the loss.

  • DeSales shot 59.4 percent for the game after torching the second-half nets.
