Nana Oteng hit his first two threes of the season in his first two shots as the Wolves took an early 6-4 lead. The Statesmen responded, capitalizing on their opportunities in the paint. Hobart would take the early lead. The Wolves went on a 5-0 run midway through the first with Daniel Obunse (Queens, N.Y. / Flushing) making a layup. Obunse then forced a turnover with a steal and found Devin Milton (Opelousas, La. / Beau Chene) for three to tie the game at 24-24. Hobart responded with back-to-back threes and then went on their largest run of the half, seven points, to build a 37-26 advantage. On the following possession, DJ Billings (Rochester, N.Y. / Greece Odyssey) caused a steal and found Isaac McIlroy (Watkins Glen, N.Y. / Watkins Glen) streaking for the layup.
