GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - Riley Collins had a night to remember on Friday.

The senior guard became Drew's all-time leading scorer in impressive fashion, scoring 31 points while draining a career-high nine 3-pointers and dishing out eight assists, leading the Rangers to a 95-71 win over Hood College in the ECAC quarterfinals at Gwynedd Mercy University.

Freshman forward Howard McBurnie, Jr. added a big double-double of 12 points and a season-high 18 rebounds - the most by a Ranger all season.

Drew (21-6) moves on to the ECAC semifinals for the second year in a row and will take on Rutgers-Newark at Saturday at 6 p.m. back at Gwynedd Mercy.

Entering the night needing 19 points to eclipse the former record of 1,924 points set by Dave Shaw C'93 from 1989-93, Collins quickly scored 15 on five 3-pointers in the opening half, helping the Rangers just out to a 49-36 lead. He didn't score again until midway through the second half, but when he did it was lights out, scoring eight points on three straight possessions in a span of just 55 seconds. He buried a 3-pointer with 11:29 left to tie the record, putting his team up by 20. Collins then claimed the record for himself with a jumper 36 seconds later. For good measure, he drained a triple on the fast break with 10:34 to go before Head Coach Darryl Keckler called timeout, allowing Collins to sub out and celebrate his milestone with the rest of his teammates.

Drew took control of the game late in the opening half, using a 15-2 run to turn a three-point lead into a 16-point bulge with (45-29) with 2:03 left in the period. After leading by 13 at the break, Hood made a move early in the second half, drawing to within six less than three minutes in. However, a 10-0 run put the Rangers back up comfortably, setting up Collins' big finish.

Michael Riley scored 27 points to lead Hood (17-10).

Drew and Rutgers-Newark will be facing off for the second time this season. The Rangers prevailed 78-63 in Baldwin Gym back on Jan. 4.
