Baruch's Season Ends in ECAC Semifinals, Bearcats Finish with 19 Wins

The Baruch College Bearcats lost 82-71 to the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy University on Saturday afternoon in Gwynedd Valley, Pennsylvania.

The Bearcats shot well at 57 percent (29-for-51) the entire game, including 14-of-24 in the second half, but the host Griffins connected on 19-of-24 free throws in the final 20 minutes to advance to the ECAC Championship Game on their home court on Sunday against Drew or Rutgers-Newark.

The Bearcats were battling and trailed 51-48 after a jumper from Jehmehl Fair with 12:34 left, but at this point the Griffins scored 11 straight points to jump ahead 62-48 with 10 minutes remaining. That game-busting run proved to be the difference as the Bearcats could later only get as close as seven points with 40 seconds remaining.

Ryan Graziano was tops for the Bearcats again in the scoring column with 27 points. Adnan Bajrami contributed 18 points.

The Bearcats shot 10-of-23 from three and dished out a team total of 16 assists.

Rich Dunham led the Griffins with 18 points and notched seven steals.

The Bearcats finish the season with a 19-11 record after playing a sixth consecutive year in the post-season.
