Keuka College Closes Season with Win over Penn St.-Berks

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team finished the 2019-20 season with an 88-78 victory over Penn St.-Berks at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on Saturday.

Keuka College finished the season with a 7-16 record, going 6-10 within the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

Nolan Ivey (Upperville, Va. / Middleburg Academy) led Keuka College with 25 points and 11 rebounds for his second straight double-double. Devin Milton (Opelousas, La. / Beau Chene) scored 19 points and added five steals. Both James Barnes (Rochester, N.Y. / University Prep) and Nana Oteng (Queens, N.Y. / Martin Luther) finished with 15 points apiece.

Keuka College 88 vs. Penn St.-Berks 78

A fast-paced first half kicked off with Penn St.-Berks shooting from deep and Keuka College attacking the basket. An 11-1 run for the Nittany Lions pushed the margin to 11 at 21-22 with nine minute left in the half. Penn St.-Berks went 10-22 from deep in the opening 20 minutes. At the other end, Keuka hit three threes but outscored the Nittany Lions by eight from the free throw line. Keuka College pulled the game back late in the half as Berks led by three, 50-47, at the half.

Keuka College tied the game and took the lead two minutes in, scoring the first five points of the second half. Berks would rally and regain the lead as the advantaged changed hands five times in the final half. The Green and Gold was able to get out and run midway through the second. A steal by James Barnes led to a layup by Alex Medellin (Gilbert, Ariz. / Desert Ridge). Milton then collected a defensive rebound and found Barnes in the open floor for the fast break layup to make it 65-64, giving the Wolves the lead with 10:05 left to play. That sparked a 12-0 run for the Green and Gold as Keuka College extended their lead to nine points with 5:41 left. The Wolves held off the Nittany Lions and closed the 2019-20 season with an 88-78 victory.
