FREDERICK, Md. - Michael Riley's layup with 8.5 seconds left gave Hood College its first lead of the game as the men's basketball won its seventh straight with a 92-90 victory over Delaware Valley. 

The Blazers' 7-0 start is the best start in program history and the longest win streak for Hood since a seven-game stint in 2013-14.

• Mason Wang played all 40 minutes and finished with a game-high 28 points. He went 7-of-17 shooting and 12-of-16 from the free throw line. The junior added four steals. 
• Riley scored 16 points and sank four 3-point field goals. 
• Evan Wang connected on 7-of-13 field goals on his way to 15 points, to go along with four assists and three steals. 
• Kobe Butler scored a season-high 12 points. 

How it Happened

• Trailing 90-89 with 19.6 seconds left, Hood called a timeout. The Blazers inbounded the ball into the backcourt to Mason Wang. After Hood passed the ball into the post to Riley, who spun to the middle, beat his man and got the roll for the lead. The Aggies turned the ball over and after Wang made one free throw, a last second jumper by Jordan Tucker was off the mark. 
• Hood had pulled to within a point with 2:05 left on a layup by Christopher Smalls, assisted by Riley. On the ensuing possession, after a shot that did not hit the rim, the Aggies had the put-back waved off on a shot clock violation with 1:27 on the clock. The Blazers had two chances at the other end but the Delaware Valley defense held and Damian Washington grabbed the rebound. After a Mike Cianciulli miss from the three, Hood regained possession to set up Riley's game-winner. 
• The bucket capped a comeback from down as many as 13 points in the second half. Hood trailed 49-39 at halftime and a Devin Hill 3-pointer 47 seconds after play resumed made it 52-39. The Aggies still led by 13 after a layup by Dwayne Caine Jr. with 11:22 to go made it 74-61. From that point, the Blazers outscored Delaware Valley 31-16, including a 12-2 run over the final 4:02. 
• Delaware Valley shot 68 percent in the first half, including 5-of-11 from 3-point range and ended the game at 64 percent. 
• The Blazers were able to stay in the game by committing just six turnovers and forcing 24, thanks to 14 steals. The result was a 33-6 advantage in points off turnovers for Hood. 

Notes

• Cianciulli and Washington had 20 points apiece to lead the Aggies. Cianciulli hit 6-of-9 3-pointers and Washington added a game-high 12 rebounds. 
• Delaware Valley connected on 11-of-21 from 3-point distance (52 percent). 
• Hood went 21-of-25 (84 percent) at the free throw line, while the Aggies went 9-for-9.
