LOS ANGELESCaleb Yellin-Flaherty was named the SCIAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after leading Oxy to a pair of wins over West Coast Baptist and Bethesda last week.

Yellin-Flaherty, a 6-foot-5 senior from New York City, defended well on and off the ball, rebounded both ends of the court, and was exceptional on offense. He averaged 21 points, nine rebounds, five assists and a steal on the week. He also did it all while shooting 67 percent from the field and 67 from behind the 3-point line.

Oxy is back in action with an exhibition game on Tuesday night against Westmont. It's the start of a busy week as the Tigers will face West Coast Baptist again at home on Thursday and then play Caltech on Saturday.

The Tigers are 3-0 so far to start the season.
