How It Happened

• The Spartans got off to a slow start offensively, the complete opposite of their start in the regular season finale against Mary Washington. It took the Spartans three minutes to get on the board but fortunately for the Green and White, the defense was locked in from the start. After falling behind 4-0, York went on an extended 15-4 run to give the Spartans a seven-point lead at the 12-minute mark.

• Justin Milstead hit a lay-up to trim York's lead to five but York scored 14 of the next 20 points to take a 29-16 lead. The lead grew to 14 with just over a minute left before the Seahawks got the final bucket of the half as York led 35-23 heading to the break.

• St. Mary's got a Reggie Rouse lay-up to start the second half but York answered with an 18-5 run that pushed their lead to 23 points with over 12 minutes remaining in the game. St. Mary's cut the lead to 19 but York scored the next ten points of the game to remove all doubt. The Spartan lead grew to as many as 30 before the Spartans settled for the 29 point victory.
