ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Andrew Lundstrom scored a career high 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to spark the University of Rochester to a 63-57 men's basketball victory over the University of Chicago at the Louis Alexander Palestra on Friday evening.
 
He was joined in the scoring column by Ryan Clamage with 14 points, six assists, and two steals and Patrick Benka, who scored 14 points and hit four three-point goals.
 
Chicago's scoring leader was Noah Karras. He scored 12 points, hitting four three-pointers. Ryan Jacobsen had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Maroons.
 
Rochester moved into a tie for second place in the University Athletic Association standings. The Yellowjackets are 17-4 overall, 7-3 in the UAA. Chicago dropped to fourth place in the UAA standings with a 6-4 UAA record, 13-8 overall.
 
UR is tied with Washington University-St. Louis (14-7, 7-3 UAA) which lost at Emory University Friday night. Emory holds a one-game lead on UR and Washington. The Eagles are 17-4, 8-2 UAA.
 
On Sunday, Rochester will host Washington in a noon start. Emory will host Chicago.
 
Chicago opened the second half on a 14-10 run to edge in front, 38-35. The Maroons went cold for a seven minute stretch with no field goals and just 3-4 from the foul line. Clamage and Lundstrom scored four points apiece to build an eight-point Rochester lead (49-41, 8:00 left).
 
Jordan Baum and Max Jacobs hit treys for Chicago in a 10-2 rip that tied the score at 51-51 with 3:22 left. Jacob Wittig made two free throws, Lundstrom dropped in a hook shot, then drove for a dunk to give Rochester a 57-51 lead with less than 90 seconds to play. UR hit 6-6 at the foul line in the last 33 seconds to seal the win.
 
This was Rochester's seventh game against a team listed in the first set of NCAA Regional Rankings. Rochester is 6-1 in that group, splitting with Chicago (85-80 loss in January) and winning vs. five other teams. The Yellowjackets are ranked number three in the East. Chicago entered the game eighth in the Central.
