Sophomore Matt Morrow recorded a double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds in Nichols College's 95-76 win at Salve Regina University Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's basketball action at Rogers Recreation Center.
 
Junior DeAnte Bruton added 26 points (11-of-15 FG) for the Bison (18-2, 10-1 CCC), who shot 51 percent from the field and turned 21 SRU turnovers into 25 points. Senior Marcos Echevarria chipped in with 10 points while freshman Jaekwon Spencer collected eight points, six rebounds, and two steals.
 
Cameron Collins paced the Seahawks with 24 points (11-of-14 FG) while Mikey Spencer netted 19 points and Mike Palmieri scored 10. Salve Regina shot 53 percent from the field.
 
Nichols held a 46-35 edge at the half behind 18 points form Morrow (9-of-12 FG) and eight from both Bruton and Echevarria. Spencer dropped in 10 points to lead all Salve Regina student-athletes. In the second half, senior Bryce Boggs converted a layup midway through the half to extend the Bison lead to 16 points (68-52) before a layup form Morrow with 5:42 on the clock stretched it to 19 points (79-60).
 
Three things you need to know...

-Today's contest marked the 55th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Salve Regina University. The Bison have won the last 12 meetings and now lead the series, 29-25.

-Echevarria knocked down a three-pointer for the 94th consecutive game, which is a new NCAA record across Division I, II, and III. The previous mark of 93 was held by Daniel Parke of Rollins College (1993-97).

-The two teams combined for 17 free throws; The Bison were 3-of-9 while the Seahawks knocked down 5-of-8.
