OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's basketball team completed the regular-season sweep of Buffalo State on Saturday afternoon to remain perfect in conference competition. Oswego was powered by a career- and season-high 27 points from guard Liam Sanborn. The 16-2 start to the campaign is the best since the 1961-62 Lakers went 19-2 and won the SUNYAC Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first half, with the game being tied at 14-14, the Lakers went on an elongated 22-9 run over 8:51 to hold a 12-point advantage at 35-23.
- Buffalo State would never get closer than nine points the rest of the way, while Oswego pushed its lead to as many as 19.
- Sanborn bested his 21-point career high from his freshman season and his 2018-19 campaign of 20 with the 27-point effort against the Bengals.
- The sophomore shot was efficient from the field (7-for-13) and 3-point land (3-for-4) while cashing in 10 of his free-throw attempts.
- Sanborn also aided his teammates with a game-high five assists while turning the Bengals over twice.
- Three other Lakers joined Sanborn in double-figures, with Brandan Gartland closest behind with 18.
- Senior Quinn Carey scored 12 points while Tyler Pierre had a double-double with 10 points on a perfect 5-for-5 from the field and a team-high 10 rebounds.
- Helping Pierre on the boards with multiple rebounds were Allen Durutovic (8), Gartland (7), Sanborn (6), Joe Sullivan (6) and Carey (4) and Bo Sireika (2).
- The Lakers owned the glass by a plus-10 margin (47-37).
- Oswego remained efficient on offense, shooting exactly 50% on the night while the Laker defense was stingy, holding the Bengals to sub-40% shooting (36.5%).
