OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's basketball team remained unbeaten in SUNYAC play with a final-seconds floater from Liam Sanborn to upset nationally-ranked Plattsburgh on Friday night. Plattsburgh came into the contest ranked 15th in the country and led by as many as 12 in the early goings before the Lakers stormed back for the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sanborn ran the clock to less than 10 seconds and beat his primary defender to the lane. With a Cardinal post player stepping up to take away the layup, the sophomore floated a shot off the backboard and in with 3.9 seconds showing on the clock. A 40-foot desperation heave for Plattsburgh missed to the right at the final buzzer.
• With 27 seconds remaining, Plattsburgh's Jonathan Patron missed his only free throw, out of seven attempts, with a chance to take the lead. The rebound was nabbed by Brandan Gartland to initiate the game-winning play.
• The Cardinals opened the tilt on a 6-0 run and eventually extended its advantage to 30-18 at 10:06.
• Oswego ripped off a quick 11-0 run by going 4-for-5 from the field, which included seven points from Allen Durutovic.
• The one-point deficit was the closest the Lakers would come in the first half but trailed by only three, 48-45, at the break.
• A good layup by Joe Sullivan at 17:31 of the second stanza gave Oswego its first lead of the game, 56-55, a lead it would hold for more than 10 minutes before being tied at 75-75.
• During that 10-minute span, the Lakers would push its margin to as many as eight before playing the final seven minutes in nip-and-tuck fashion. Plattsburgh's final lead came at 6:40 but Oswego would have to fight off several tied moments down the stretch.
• Tyler Pierre was outstanding on the offensive end of the floor, giving the Cardinals fits inside with a near perfect 10-for-11 from the floor. Those 10 field goals went along with a pair of free throws for a Laker-best 22 points on the night.
• Five others scored in double figures for Oswego, with Gartland next in the scoring column with 18 points on 7-for-9 shooting.
• Quinn Carey and Sullivan each finished with 13 points, while Sullivan led the Lakers with eight rebounds.
• Rounding out Oswego's double-figure scorers was Sanborn at 11, accompanying a game-high nine assists and two steals.
• Durutovic had all seven of his points during the aforementioned 11-0 first half run to go along with the team's second-most rebounds (4). The senior amassed those totals in just 11 minutes of floor time.

Oswego will host Potsdam at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The game was moved up one hour to account for the afternoon winter storm that is being predicted.
