Iowa Wesleyan was out shot in the game, finishing with a field goal percentage of 33.3 while Cornell shot nearly 47 percent.  The Rams also had the advantage from behind the arc, recording a three point field goal percentage of 45.8 while IW shot 25.9 percent.

In the early minutes of the game, both teams worked to try to gain an advantage over the other.  After trading the lead, Avree Clark hit a three pointer to tie the game up at 8-8, but Cornell answered on the next play and went in front with a three pointer.  The Rams maintained their lead for much of the first half, building a 10 point advantage at one point.

The Tigers did not give up and did their best to chip away at the Cornell lead.  With 3:30 remaining in the first half, Jake Neubauer hit a three pointer to ignite the IW offense.  Austin Banks converted a four point play to give Iowa Wesleyan their first lead since the 18:24 minute mark.  The Tigers headed into the break with a one point advantage over the Rams.

Cornell opened the second half with a layup, but Avree Clark had the answer on the other end with a layup of his own to put IW back in front.  The Rams regained the lead on their next possession to take a one point lead. With 17:02 remaining, Austin Rebel made a pair of free throws to bring the score to 44-43.  

That would be the closest the Tigers would get in the second half.  Shots stopped falling for Iowa Wesleyan and the Rams were able to extend their lead. IW ended the half with just eight made field goals, while Cornell knocked in 17 field goals.  They went on to secure a 76-63 win over Iowa Wesleyan.

Three members of the Tigers scored in double figures with Avree Clark leading the way with 16 points.  Clark hit a team high four three pointers in the loss. Jarryd Fernandes was just shy of a double-double after recording 14 points and 9 rebounds.  Austin Rebel picked up his fifth double-double of the season after scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for the Tigers.

Iowa Wesleyan will return to SLIAC play on Saturday, December 15.  They will travel to Elsah, Illinois to take on Principia College at 3pm.  IW is now 2-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
