Men’s Basketball falls short against Oswego, 84-78

BUFFALO, N.Y.— Dom Grayer (Brooklyn/Bishop Loughlin) tallied 25 points on 6 of 10 shooting from the 3-point line but it was not enough as Oswego used a 17-5 run in the second half to complete the 84-78 come-from-behind victory over Buffalo State in SUNYAC action this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Grayer finished 9 of 18 from the floor while adding two rebounds and a block.
  • Sheldon Adams (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) finished with 14 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Kay Grant chipped in 12 points and six rebounds.
  • Buffalo State and Oswego battled in the opening minutes until a layup from Grayer gave the Bengals an early 24-14 lead.
  • The Bengals extended their lead to 36-24 on a layup from Bernardez, but could not keep the lead intact as Oswego closed the first stanza on an 11-6 run to cut the lead to 42-35 at halftime.
  • After Buffalo State regained a 54-44 lead on a 3-pointer by Grayer with 14:53 left in the contest, the Lakers used a 17-8 to take their first lead of the second half, 61-59.
  • The Bengals continued to stay within a two-point window until Oswego pushed the lead to 77-67 on a 8-0 run.
  • Oswego finished the contest on 5 of 6 shooting from the charity strip to complete the comeback victory.
