WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Jack Stewart delivered a team-high 20 points, Austin Butler scored 15 more and handed out a game-high eight assists and the No. 4 Whitman College men's basketball team scored 24 unanswered points in the first half to roll to a 124-92 win over Concordia (TX) on Saturday at the Sherwood Athletic Center.

Stewart and Butler were joined by five other Blues (3-0) to post double figures in points. The Whitman point total was the highest of the season and most since January.

Joe Neal led all scorers, putting up 24 points on 8-10 shooting in the loss for the Tornados (1-2). Tommy Holiday add 19 points in 17 minutes off action off the bench

The game was tight until the Blues blew it open in the blink of an eye. Back-to-back three pointers early in the game from Trevor Osborne put the Blues up by six points, but Concordia didn't let the game get away from them just yet. Three balls from Neal and Maluw Deng evened the game at 14-14 with just under six minutes elapsed.

Neal would put the Tornados up a basket but Whitman got hot from the floor, going on their unbelievable run in just over four minutes to take a resounding 40-18 lead. A handful of Blues got in on the action highlighted by Butler's driving dunk in the lane.

The lead would only swell in the second half. Buckets from Darne Duckett lifted the lead to 28 points with 12:27 to play. A layup from Robert Colton and a three ball from Jase Harrison extended the lead to 30 points before Hewitt scored twice off of his own two forced turnovers, the second a three pointer to give the Blues a 96-58 lead with 10:46 to play.

Whitman next travels down to Claremont, Calif. for back-to-back games against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (11/23) and Pomona Pitzer (11/24).
