KANSAS CITY – Stevenson University men's basketball assistant coach Jeff Smith was named to the 2017-18 Under Armour 30-under-30 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), recognizing a group of up and coming young coaches in men's college basketball. Smith is one of six Division III coaches on the list.
Smith recently wrapped up his fifth season on head coach Gary Stewart's staff. During his tenure at Stevenson, the Mustangs have made back-to-back MAC Commonwealth title game appearances and captured ECAC titles in 2014 and 2015. Smith has helped coach eight All-Conference honorees, including the 2017 MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year.
Smith is a consistent presence on the summer basketball circuit and has worked at various summer camps. He has also been involved with the 2015 and 2016 NABC Reese's Division I All-Star Game at the Final Four.
