Senior forward Chimaechi Ekekeugbor has been voted a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III Second Team All-American.
The voting was conducted by member coaches of the NABC.
"This is another incredible honor for both Chima and the Baruch program," said Head Coach John Alesi. "We are proud to have him recognized by the coaches across the country as an All-American. It is a great testament to the incredible career he has had at Baruch."
Nicknamed Chima, he averaged 18.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game during his 2017-18 senior season. He was also voted the 2017-18 CUNYAC Most Valuable Player.
Chima became the first Baruch player and only second in CUNYAC history to score 2,000 or more career points.
He was named during the preseason to the Street & Smith's 2017-18 Division III Pre-Season All-American Team.
"I'm just extremely blessed to be an all-American," said Ekekeugbor. "Being selected as an all-American was beyond my dreams for this season, but I'm thankful for the honor and thankful to be a part of a program that helped me achieve so much success".

About the National Association of Basketball Coaches
Located in Kansas City, MO, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Phog Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game. The NABC currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches.
