DeWitz, a 6-foot-7 junior forward from Oregon City, led the Tigers to their best season in over a decade. Oxy went 19-7 overall, 12-4 in SCIAC play and made the SCIAC Postseason Tournament for the first time since 2010.

DeWitz, who was named First Team All-SCIAC in February, led the SCIAC in minutes per game (36.8) and rebounds per game (8.3), was sixth in scoring (17.3 ppg), third in blocks (1.3) and shot 50 percent from the field. He also anchored Oxy's defense which is the only defense in the country that ranks in the top 10 in NCAA Division III in field goal percentage, 3-point field goal percentage and scoring.

SCIAC Player of the Year Michael Scarlett of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps was the only other SCIAC player recognized on one of the three teams.

Oxy returns all but one player from its 2017-18 team, including First Team All-SCIAC forward Zach Baines, who was fourth in the SCIAC in scoring at 18.3 ppg.
