St. Thomas men win streak snapped with road loss

St. Thomas Men's Basketball was outscored 24-12 from 3-point range and 11-6 from the foul line in Wednesday night's 79-66 MIAC road loss at Augsburg.

The Tommies (13-9 overall, 11-6 MIAC) had a four-game win streak halted and fell back into a tie form fourth place. They were swept in the regular-season season series with the Auggies for the first time in 19 seasons.

Collin Olmscheid scored 28 points, and Booker Coplin added 24 points and 10 boards as the Auggies (17-6, 12-6) got all 79 points from their starting five. Augsburg, which led just 37-35 at halftime, had only nine turnovers and a 37-32 rebounding advantage.

UST scored 46 bench points, led by Connor Bair with 23 points and Steffan Musoke with 13.

St. Thomas plays Saturday at St. Olaf and is home next Wednesday to face St. Mary's.
