Power Has Career High For Hamline

Nick Powell is winding down his college career on fire. The senior forward came off the bench to score a career high 14 points for the Hamline men's basketball team in an 80-60 loss to Augsburg at Hutton Arena Wednesday. Powell, who was averaging slightly over four points a game, had a dozen in the first half alone. Dylan See-Rockers also shot over his season average with a team high 16 points and Zach Smith added 10. Powell and See-Rockers were also the top two HU rebounders with five each while Smith added four assists. 

Hamline fell to 9-11 overall, 5-10 in MIAC games. 

The Auggies used a 10-0 run in the first half to grab a nine-point lead at 12-3. HU chipped away and got back within four at one point. By halftime, Augsburg had pushed the lead to 43-35. Hamline kept the game within sight well into the second half before a 12-6 Augsburg spurt extended the lead to 16 at 63-47. The visitors shot 50 per cent from the field while the Pipers came in at 37.5. 

Haml,ine remains at home Saturday, February 3 to take on Gustavus Adolphus at Hutton Arena at 1:00 p.m. It will be a special day with ceremonies honoring Al Frost '67 as well as the team's six seniors and their families.
