Tommie Men's Basketball rewrote the school record book en route to Wednesday night's 122-74 defeat of visiting Macalester in an MIAC contest at Schoenecker Arena. UST rested its leading scorer Ryan Boll yet 14 of its other 15 players who suited up contributed points, led by six scoring in double figures.

The Tommies (12-8 overall, 10-5 MIAC) improved to 6-1 at home this season and sit in a two-way tie for third place in the conference with five games left in the regular season. UST closed out an 8-3 January schedule.

Among the records and near records:

• UST's 122 points set a program record and also established a facility record for 37 seasons of play in the old and new Schoenecker Arena;
• The 68 second-half points were the most recorded in one half;
• the Toms' 81 bench points tied the mark it set earlier this month in a 120-74 road win over Macalester;
• UST had broken a school mark for 3-point baskets on Monday night with 16 at St. Mary's, and shattered that record Wednesday with 20, made by eight different players;
• the Toms' 34 assists were one off a March 2009 school record of 35 set in the NCAA playoffs against Aurora.

After a slow start, the Toms closed the first half on a 43-20 run. St. Thomas shot 54 percent from the floor, including 10-of-20 from behind the arc, had had a 51-39 rebounding edge.

Jack Sowada played just 11 minutes and scored a game-high 22 points. Connor Bair scored 18, all in the first half.

Ten players scored for Macalester led by Jackson Henningfield with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
