THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – On Tuesday evening the Maritime basketball team fell at home to the Farmingdale Rams by the score of 82-48 inside Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium.
 
Offensively Maritime was led by senior Patrick MacDonald(Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius), who registered 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Freshman Nick McTighe (Merrick, N.Y./Holy Trinity) was second on the team with nine points, while sophomore Brendan McGovern (Seaford, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) notched eight points on the night.
 
Junior James Bonner (Timonium, Md./Dulaney) had five points, while sophomore Michael Walker(Bayport, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) and senior Josh Raime (Elmont, N.Y./Holy Cross) each had three points. Senior John Liccese (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) had two as did senior Tim McQuail (Middle Village, N.Y./Cathedral Prep), sophomore Jermaine Brathwaite (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth Regional) and freshman Chris Ruscillo (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place).
 
MacDonald led the team with nine rebounds, while Brathwaite added six and both Bonner and Ruscillo had three boards on the night. Bonner also led the team with four assists, with Brathwaite chipping in with three. MacDonald had four steals on the night.
 
Maritime took the early two-point lead on a MacDonald layup, however Farmingdale responded with a three-pointer and led throughout the remainder of the game. The Rams led by 22 in the first half to close out the period on a good jumper and-one by Farmingdale to take a 38-16 lead into the halftime break.
 
In the second half the Rams led by as many as 37 points with a 73-39 lead with just over three minutes left in the game. Farmingdale closed out the game with a jump shot with 19 seconds left to cap off the scoring at 83-48.
 
Maritime (8-12, 5-11 Skyline) will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, when the team visits Merchant Marine for a 2 p.m. Skyline Conference contest inside Liebertz Gymnasium.
 
Farmingdale (12-6, 10-3 Skyline) will be on the road in two nights on Thursday evening when the team visits Sarah Lawrence for an 8 p.m. start at the Campbell Sports Center.
