ABINGTON, Pa. — Freshman David Oliveras (Great Mills, Md. / Great Mills) scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Keuka College Men's Basketball team to a 79-68 road North Eastern Athletic Conference victory at Penn St.-Abington.  

Oliveras led Keuka College (7-6, 5-1 NEAC) with 20 points in 20 minutes of action off of the bench. Dylan Doupe (Phoenix, N.Y. / John C. Birdlebough) scored 15 points for the Wolves and Sam Brown (Syracuse, N.Y. / West Genesee) added 10 in the win. Senior guard Greg Tyler (Edgewater, Md. / Southern) tied his career-best in assists with seven in the game.

Keuka College 79 at Penn St.-Abington 68

Keuka College took an early lead in the game by the Nittany Lions scored eight straight to take the lead back. The Wolves would regain the lead and push it to six points as they scored 11 unanswered points, capped by a Matt Estes (Watkins Glen, N.Y. / Watkins Glen) three pointer. The teams would trade baskets for the duration of the half. The Wolves widened the gap in the final minute as Sam Brown knocked down a three. On the last possession of the first half, David Oliveras hit a jumper to push the margin to 11, 43-32, going into the locker rooms at halftime.

The Wolves shot 60.7% in the first half and continued to shoot well in the second. They remained ahead for the duration of the second. The defense stepped up for the Wolves, allowing just 37% from the field and 25% from three-point territory in the second half. In total, Keuka College led for nearly 35 of the 40 minutes on Saturday as they defeated Penn St.-Abington 79-68.

  • It was Keuka's first win in Abington, Pa. since the initial meeting between the two schools in the 2009-10 season

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will remain on their southern trip on Sunday as they take on the Lancaster Bible College Chargers. The Wolves are 3-5 all-time against the Chargers but won the meeting between the two schools in Keuka Park last season.
