North Central pulls away from Albion

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Alex Sorenson and Connor Raridon combined for 15 points during an 18-4 run as North Central College pulled away for a 92-78 victory over Albion College in non-league men's basketball action Tuesday night.

Corey Wheeler scored eight points and Nathaniel Collins added five as Albion got off to a good start, leading 17-9 six minutes into the game.

Mike Pollack and Matt Cappelletti combined to hit five from the free throw line as North Central closed to within one, 22-21, midway through the first half, and the teams went to their respective locker rooms with the score tied at 40 at halftime.

Wheeler was the only Briton to score in double figures, finishing with 19 points.

Raridon hit 13-of-15 shots from the field to finish with 36 points for North Central. Sorenson added 24.

Albion, 1-7 overall, returns home for a 5:30 p.m. Friday game against Aurora, Ill., University.
