Senior Thomas Wisecup matched his career-highs with 24 points and 11 rebounds while junior Brady Dicks turned in a new career-high 14 points off the bench, to help lead the Buena Vista men's basketball team to a commanding 98-65 non-conference road victory at Concordia University-Chicago on Tuesday night.

Wisecup, who's averaging 14.2ppg on the year, scored 17 of his 24 points in the first half, including 5-of-8 from downtown to help set the tone early for the Beavers.  Dicks scored 10 of his 14 in just six minutes of play in the opening half while going a perfect 4-of-4 from the field.  As a team, BVU was 10-of-22 from long range over the first 20 minutes and built a 54-29 halftime lead.  Wisecup set a new career-high with six makes from downtown (6-of-11) in the contest, surpassing his previous mark of five last reached at Wartburg on February 18 of last season.

Dicks was 2-of-2 from behind the arc as the Beavers matched a season-high with 12 treys in the contest and surpassed the 90-point mark for the fourth time this season.

Senior David Jeffries turned in 15 points, six rebounds and a pair of assists and was 7-of-8 at the free-throw line.  Connor Winkelman chipped in with five points and a team-leading five assists while Timothy Jeffries added seven points and four assists.

The Cougars (1-8) made the game's first field goal but it was all Beavers from there.  Wisecup nailed a three to put BVU in front 11-8, and later hit back-to-back treys to make it 22-10 less than six minutes into the game, as BVU led by double-digts the rest of the way, including its largest margin of 35 with 3:30 left to play.

Defensively, the Beavers held Concordia to under 37 percent shooting from the field and just 6-of-24 from downtown.  They also outrebounded the Cougars, 43-35.

Despite the 12 made three-point buckets, BVU was also able to dominate in the paint by outscoring the home team, 44-22.  It again showed the depth it has by outscoring the Concordia bench, 38-14.

Buena Vista improves to 7-2 on the year and will now have some time off for the holidays.  It will return to the court with a trip out West to California on December 28-29.  The Beavers open play against La Verne in a game played at Life Pacific College in San Dimas, Calif., on the 28th at 4:30 p.m. (CST).  It'll then play at Caltech on the 29th at 7:00 p.m. (CST).
