LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's basketball team pulled away from visiting Kalamazoo College in the second half to win a sixth consecutive contest.

• Benedictine struggled from the start, failing to score for the first four and a half minutes, falling behind 6-0
• Jens Soderholm completed a three-point play to give Benedictine the lead for the first time at the 7:39 mark of the first half at 15-14
• Soderholm scored 18 points in the opening 20 minutes of action as just four players cracked the scoring column
• A three-pointer with just over three minutes remaining gave Kalamazoo the lead at 28-25 and the visitors took a 33-30 edge into the half
• Benedictine opened the second half with an 8-0 run to take the lead on a Kenny Bogus triple
• Benedictine did not trail the rest of the way, taking a 55-45 lead with a 6-0 spurt capped by a layup from Brayden Olson
• Kalamazoo whittled the deficit to three points twice at 59-56 and again at 61-58 with 4:32 remaining
• Benedictine made only one field goal in the final four minutes of the game but won the game from the free throw line, hitting eight free throws down the stretch
• The contest saw five ties and seven lead changes as Benedictine extended their win streak and brought an end to Kalamazoo's three-game streak


• Benedictine rebounded after shooting under 30 percent in the first half to hit 45.8 percent of attempts in the second half and finish the game at 36.5 percent
• Kalamazoo held a 39-34 edge on the glass and scored 32 points in the paint
• Soderholm led all scorers with 28 points, adding 10 rebounds for a third double-double
• Soderholm scored 14 points at the free throw line and made his first 13 attempts
• Benedictine connected on 29-of-34 free throws, finishing at 85.3 percent from the line
• Olson finished with 21 points, 13 of which came in the second half
• Olson added five assists
