BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Christian Lynch went for 26 points and Corey Doran tacked on 18 as Eastern Nazarene College overcame an early double-digit deficit to top the University of New England, 65-60, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's basketball action Saturday afternoon (Feb. 11) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

Lynch found the range after the Lions (11-12, 8-8 CCC) fell behind 23-9 during the 1st half, then scoring his initial 11 points as the visitors closed the gap to three (32-29) by intermission.

Following halftime, Lynch and Doran paired for 27 (15 and 12) of their side's 36 points. ENC finished with a 40-32 rebounding edge, paced by nine from Anthony Petrilli and with the support of Doran (7) and Lynch (5).

For the Nor'easters (7-16, 5-11 CCC), Gavin Dibble led the scoring effort with 15 points. Jean-Luc Parker had eight in the early-going to help UNE build its advantage, and ended with 14. Daron Hoges, Jr. notched 11 points to go with eight rebounds, and Tom Nason dropped in 10 points. Drew Coveney recorded seven assists and four steals.

A three-point play by Lynch brought the Lions even for the first time at 34-all just a few plays into the 2nd frame. After trading the ensuing six hoops, the teams were knotted at 40-40 for nearly two minutes before Doran drained a couple freebies with 13:15 remaining, putting Eastern Nazarene ahead for the first time, and for good.

Once the spread got to six (49-43), the ENC cushion shifted between four and eight the rest of the way, with the exception of momentarily gaining a 10-point padding (62-52) in the waning seconds.

Eastern Nazarene will be back in Quincy on Tuesday to entertain Nichols College (13-3 CCC), while UNE will be at Gordon College (10-6 CCC) the same night.
