Tommies offense stalls in home defeat to St. Olaf

Freshman Nate Albers had 17 points and nine rebounds off the bench and Robert Tobroxen added 13 points and 10 rebounds as visiting St. Olaf rallied for Wednesday night's 64-56 MIAC men's basketball win at St. Thomas.

Frank Delaney added 16 points for St. Olaf, which erased a 17-point deficit in the final 19:00.

The Oles used a 20-3 run in the final 8:00 -- including 8-of-9 at the foul line in the last 3:40 -- to pull out the win. The Oles outrebounded UST 45-31, and after committing 13 turnovers in the first half had only three in the final 20:00.

The Tommies (9-4 overall, 5-3 MIAC), playing without injured two-year starter Ryan Boll, had a five-game win streak halted and fell out of second place. The Tommie starting five had just 25 points overall, and the Toms scored just 21 points in the final half, converting just 8-of-29 shots.

St. Thomas made 7-of-17 treys in the first half but missed 10 of its first 11 3-point tries after halftime.

Freshman Elijah Hannah had 13 points and Michael Hannon scored 12 for UST. Senior guard Grant Shaeffer played his first game since before Christmas break and had six points in 27 minutes.
