Staten Island Downs Baruch (77-68)

The Baruch College Bearcats lost 77-68 to the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island in a CUNYAC contest on Wednesday night in Staten Island, New York.

The Bearcats had the better of the first half taking a 39-33 lead into the halftime break.
Chimaechi Ekekeugbor scored 14 points and Doyin Isaac had 11 for the six point lead.

The two teams were tied at 56 with eight minutes left, but the Dolphins made the first move by scoring seven straight points for a 63-56 advantage. They boosted their lead to 10 (72-62)  with under two minutes remaining to seal the win.

Overall, they shot 12-of-15 from the free throw line in the final eight minutes.

Ekekeugbor led the Bearcats with another double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds. Isaac finished with 17 points and
Bryler Paige had 12 to round out the double-figure scorers.

Frank Schettino led the Dolphins with a double-double of 21 points and 13 assists. He also added eight rebounds and four steals.

The Bearcats will resume CUNYAC action on Friday night at home with a 7:30 pm contest against Lehman College.
