Improving to 4-0 against nationally-ranked programs this season, the North Central College men's basketball team put together a furious rally to close regulation play at the Cruzin Classic on Tuesday, coming up with just enough big shots to take down 19th-ranked Wartburg College, 94-91, in double overtime at the Broward County Convention Center.

20th-ranked North Central (7-3) trailed, 69-58, with 2:46 remaining in the second half. Its comeback effort began in earnest after back-to-back three-point plays by Erwin Henry and Alex Sorenson, and a three-pointer from Aiden Chang slashed the deficit to 69-67 with 30 seconds left. Wartburg's Nick Webber sank two free throws, which were countered by a putback by Sorenson with just seven seconds on the clock.

Following a timeout, the Cardinals put Webber on the line once again, and he made one of two shots to give Wartburg (9-2) a 72-69 edge, but Chang came up with a buzzer-beating three-pointer to send the contest into an extra session. North Central led briefly at the start of overtime, but the Knights' Jordan Cannon knocked down a triple to tie the score at 76-76. The score was leveled twice more before Webber scored five straight points to put Wartburg ahead, 85-80, with 16 seconds left.

Nick Chambers cut into the lead by sinking a three-pointer with seven seconds left, and after Webber once again made one of two shots, Jagger Anderson made his lone shot from beyond the arc just before the buzzer sounded to send the game into a second overtime period tied, 86-86. The Cardinals charged ahead with a three-point play from Sorenson and a three-point shot from Chang to open the second extra frame, and two free throws from Henry with 1:06 remaining which wound up sealing the win.

Henry and Sorenson shared game-high scoring honors with 24 points each. Henry, who notched a season high in scoring for the second straight game, put up 17 points in the first half and also grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds, while Sorenson contributed 15 points in the second half and collected 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. Chang and Anderson each scored 18 points and Chambers led the Cardinals with five assists and three steals.
