BSC Panthers Comeback to Defeat Huntingdon 81-73

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –  The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team stopped a two-game skid Saturday afternoon by completing a comeback against Huntingdon College to win 81-73 in Bill Battle Coliseum.  It was Blackout Night as the Panthers raised money for cancer research.

 

James McLean (Maitland, Fla./Winter Park HS) led the Panthers with 17 points.  He made 5-of-9 from the floor and went 3-for-4 from the free throw line. Evan Lewis (Birmingham, Ala./Ramsay HS) finished with 16 points, going 4-for-6 from three-point range.

 

Ian Thom (Cold Spring, N.Y./Croton-Harmon HS) and Harrison Deneka (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) also finished in double-figures.  Thom earned 14, and Deneka picked up 12, respectively.

 

The game was tied only four times, but had 20 lead changes. The Panthers finally took the lead for the last time on a pair of free throws by Matty Rudak (Augustów, Poland / Millbrook School (NY)), who finished with a team-high seven rebounds, all defensive.

 

This game ended a five-game home stand for BSC. The Panthers hit the road next taking on Maryville (Tenn.) on Saturday, December 10 at 3 p.m. ET.
