Baruch Runs Past York in CUNYAC Opener

The Baruch College Bearcats never trailed in a 85-56 victory over the Cardinals of York College in the CUNYAC opener for both teams on Tuesday night in Jamaica, New York.

The visiting Bearcats took control early by building a 17-point halftime lead (38-21) after shooting 52 percent (15-for-32) in the opening half. They kept the strong pace in the second half by shooting 56 percent (17-for-30) en route to the road win.


Chimaechi Ekekeugbor scored 17 points, while Doyin Isaac added 15 points and six assists. William Sixsmith (4-for-6 3fg) and Alex Mattina each scored 12 points (4-for-5 3fg).

The entire roster saw action this evening to help the team improve to 5-1.

Ryan St. John led the host Cardinals with 12 points and three steals.

The Bearcats will travel to play to CCNY in another CUNYAC contest on Friday night at 7 p.m.
