RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's basketball season has been over for three weeks, but the awards continue to roll in for junior guard Ty Sabin. His latest honor comes via D3hoops.com, which named him to their All-America second team, one year after he was selected as an Honorable Mention. An Exercise Science major from New Berlin, Wis., Sabin is the only player from the Midwest Conference to make any of the five D3hoops.com All-America teams and is the first player in the 117-year history of the Ripon College men's basketball program to earn All-America honors in more than one season. His selection marks the fifth time in the last six years that Ripon has placed a player on the All-America Team and his Second Team selection is tied for the highest in school history (Scott Gillespie).

Sabin finished the 2015-16 season as the leading scorer in the MWC, averaging 25.9 points per game, which was fifth in Division-III. He also led the league in 3-point shooting (.458), which was seventh in D-III. Sabin also finished 10th in the MWC in free throw percentage (.784) and 12th in field goal percentage (.508), while leading the Red Hawks in rebounding (4.5 rpg) and tying for the team lead in assists (2.0 apg). His 71 3-pointers in 2015-16 are the second-highest single season total in school history, while his 621 points are the fourth-most in a single season. He also broke single game school records for points (51) and 3-pointers (11) against Cornell, earning him D-III National Player of the Week honors and a spot in Sports Illustrated's 'Faces In The Crowd.'

With one season still to play, Sabin currently ranks fifth in school history for career points (1,761), just 110 shy of the school record. He also ranks second in school history for career 3-pointers with 197, which is 80 shy of the school record, and is second in free throw percentage (.856) and sixth in 3-point percentage (.460).
